About Mountain Dog:

Mountain Dog are proudly the UK's Premier Dog Outfitter.
Established as a home-based business in 2017 when our border collie pup, Denver, joined the family. Since then our business has grown rapidly alongside this fluff ball who still acts as our ambassadog and chief tester of many products.

Today we have now served well over 150,000 customers and our business, whilst still small and family focused, occupies over 5000 square feet and is full of amazing dog products for the active and not so active pup alike.

We are proud to be a leading independent partner of world class brands such as Ruffwear, Dog Copenhagen, Kurgo, Kong, Non-stop dogwear, K9 Sport Sack, Rukka, ChuckIt!, Kong, EzyDog and many more.

These quality brands are all complemented by a full range of dog care accessories and our own brand of food, accessories and treats.

Based in beautiful Northumberland our business sells on-line and at major dog events throughout the country such as Crufts.

Customer service, fast delivery, providing quality items, timely advice and all with a smile is at the heart of everything we do. We dont get it right all the time but this is always our objective.

Be assured we genuinely care, we are a small but experienced team and love to help.

Just love the quality and how easy it is to put on.... Stands out on my Black Miniature Schnauzer which always gets compliments.. love the back clip ensuring no pull!

The harness is very well made, but it is too stiff and bulky for what I was wanting for my dog. He does not need such a heavy harness. I am finding it difficult to find a Y shape or lighter harness without the handle on the top. I have to cut them off! My dog is always in bushes and he may get caught up with the handle. So unnecessary.

Sorry to hear this harness wasnt for you, wed love to offer some advice on lighter weight harnesses or alternatives. We stock multiple brands that have subtle differences and maybe this just wasnt the harness to suit. Please give us a call :-)

Purchased two Ruffwear Front Range Harnesses (sized, small) for Scottish terriers weighing 10kg and 12kg with some trepidation having found several other makes just don't work with Scotties; something to do with the proportions of the head, chest, neck and little legs! Anyway, the harnesses seem to remain in place better than expected and definitely feel they are more comfortable than their previous EZdog harnesses. Time will tell if they last although I am a little sceptical seeing as the chest plates seem to 'clean the grass' as the dogs pass leaving the harnesses dirty already meaning they will need cleaning often.

I have a 6-month-old Weimaraner who was fastly outgrowing the S size of the harness. The size ranges have no overlap so I assumed she would slip into an M on a smaller setting. The harness arrived and unfortunately, the size was a little snug - the chest strap was almost at the largest setting to fit on her. Now Weimaraners have very deep chests and this may be the reason why it wasn't a simple transition from S to M. Luckily Mountain Dog was super efficient and I was able to exchange the M for the L/XL which is perfect, possibly an inch too big at the moment but I am sure she will grow into it. The harness itself is beautifully made and my dog loves it. When she was a smaller puppy she used my old spaniel's ezydog harness which she was always resistant to have put on - she'd be biting my hands, chewing the harness and wriggling to getaway. Now when I get the Front Range Harness out she puts her head in the hole and waits for it to be fastened. I think I can safely assume that she likes the harness and finds it comfortable. Big thumbs up :D
