About Mountain Dog:

Mountain Dog are proudly the UK's Premier Dog Outfitter.
Established as a home-based business in 2017 when our border collie pup, Denver, joined the family. Since then our business has grown rapidly alongside this fluff ball who still acts as our ambassadog and chief tester of many products.

Today we have now served well over 150,000 customers and our business, whilst still small and family focused, occupies over 5000 square feet and is full of amazing dog products for the active and not so active pup alike.

We are proud to be a leading independent partner of world class brands such as Ruffwear, Dog Copenhagen, Kurgo, Kong, Non-stop dogwear, K9 Sport Sack, Rukka, ChuckIt!, Kong, EzyDog and many more.

These quality brands are all complemented by a full range of dog care accessories and our own brand of food, accessories and treats.

Based in beautiful Northumberland our business sells on-line and at major dog events throughout the country such as Crufts.

Customer service, fast delivery, providing quality items, timely advice and all with a smile is at the heart of everything we do. We dont get it right all the time but this is always our objective.

Be assured we genuinely care, we are a small but experienced team and love to help.

There is a problem with these collars...It's now the fifth time that whilst we are on walks, our lead detaches from your collar. At first I thought it was me, but it has happen to my other half too which is really dangerous as we walk on street areas!!!! My technical mind is telling me that it's the metal triangular shape on your collar which is creating this problem, as we've many other collars and NEVER had this problem in four years! Our lead, we have used for years and just bought new sets of the same type about 4 months ago, so it's not that. The  lead we use has a strong dog lead clip, but I believe that because we have to clip around your collar's strong metal triangular shaped hoop, this is actually forcing the lead clip to come undone.  I've paid more than £50 for two collars, and have had 5 near accidents whilst walking them since having these collars.  I hope you you assist... KR, Filipa

Hello Filipa, Sorry to hear that you are not completely satisfied with your purchase. This is not a common problem that we have seen with our Ruffwear Crag Collars. We have sold many of these collars and have not had any issues with these collars. All of our products are from reputable brands that we trust. I would like to reassure you that other customers who have purchased these collars have left us good reviews and have been happy with the products. however, we understand that these things happen and your dog's safety is key. Our first step would be to recommend you contact our customer service team who can assist you better with regards to the collars. They can be contacted on bark@mountaindog.uk or on the live chat that can be found on our website between the hours of 9 am and 4 pm. We understand that if you didn't want to get the same collars again due to the worry of your dogs escaping, we do sell a range of other collars that you may prefer. By taking a quick look at our Ruffwear stock, they all consist of the triangular-shaped D-ring. We understand that this is a concern to you and we do have another brand of collars that we could reccommend. Our first brand would be Ezydog. This is a classic collar that is made from neoprene and is reinforced with nylon webbing - allowing the collar to be waterproof. The D-ring is a circle ring rather than a triangle and is made from stainless steel preventing rusting. We do have other brands such as Non-stop dog wear which we have a selection of collars. One of the collars that particularly may be ideal for you is the safe collar. These collars are made for dogs who enjoy running and often get stuck on branches or obstacles when they are out and about. This collar is bright orange and unfortunately does not have other colours, however, they do have a double D-ring for leash attachment. We would like to apologise for the inconvenience that this has caused. We hope that this helps. If there is anything else we can do to assist, please don't hesitate to contact us.

We are so sorry to hear you have had such an issue. These collars have an extremely low return rate and as such I can only assume your leash isnt pairing with the collar well which is very unusual. The good news is we always want to help and couple with Ruffwear's Trail Time guarantee I'm sure we can get you a solution that works.

Fab! Strong fastening. I like the fact that you can lengthen or shorten the lead depending on circumstances .

Love this . The one end has a strong fastening, the other can be used as a collar or to tie dog securely to railing whilst out visiting a cafe. I have also used it to attach to handle while other fastening is on collar so there are two attachment points to give more control.
