“These are similar to acrylic paint pens in that you need to shake the pen (with lid on) when using it for the first time (and subsequent uses), and then press in the nib several times to release the air and to get the ink to run. It is then a case of writing, drawing or colouring as you wish.Where this set of 12 pens differ from acrylic paint pens in that they are two colours (silver and another colour) in that they create a metallic silver line which is bordered by a colour. However, like acrylic paint pens, you really do need to write, draw or colour on thick paper or card as they will likely bleed through on thin card. We have only tried a few of these pens but we like the effect they create. They are not for writing messages in your standard-sized handwriting but they are useful for a simple message on the front of a handmade card, e.g. Happy Birthday, where larger text is required. We like these pens but I can understand that they would not be ideal for all arts and crafts projects. The price of them is Ј12.99 at the time of this Amazon Vine review, which is not bad, as I have paid Ј10 for five acrylic paint pens in the past, although they were only a single colour pens.”
“Beautifully boxed, these metallic markers make a great gift. They work like acrylic pens and require shaking and pressing down on the nib to activate.Twelve colours are provided which edge the broader streaks of metallic silver. I note there is no orange (my favourite colour!)These work reasonably well. However, when I used the blue colour on paper, as advised to start, I note that the blue outline is not smooth but spiky (see photo). This also came through the back of the notepaper plus onto the following two pages (70 gsm). Please do use a protective table cover before use, as there is clearly ink seepage. Nonetheless, the pens are chunky and ideal for small hands. They are to use for colouring and forming letters - and are just a little bit different. Please note, there is an unattractive odour emanating from the paper after use. These are proudly made in England and are priced at Ј12.99. I have used similar made in China and this set is by far a better quality. It is a more robust manufacture, if more expensive. Spare nibs are also supplied.”
“Metallic rainbow pens. These pens need to be activated by David Matip a few times for the ink to come through. They look different colours as you move them in certain lights. The metallic silvery colour is the most dominant, with the colour coming on the outside. There are 12p in total quite a few of them are similar colours, but all the main colours are there. These are currently 1299 for Ј12 which works out just over a pound per pen. They are okay and work while they do bleed through the paper so that something to be aware of.”
“These markers are excellent quality and produce a beautiful ,unusual metallic shine effect. They have a great variety of colours which all have the added dimension of a silver tone. They are easy to use, they do need to be shaken and pressed on the cap first to release any air and the ink then flows nicely. They do smudge if not left to dry but they are very quick drying. The ink works well on a range of surfaces from card to pebbles making these pens a useful addition to any artists set.An added bonus is that they are non-toxic which is very reassuring and means my children can use them worry free.At Ј12.99 they are well worth the money-would recommend.”
“Although primarily marketed at children and young people, I personally think these pens will be enjoyed and loved by people of all ages. The colour they make is a silver shimmer with the main colour showing up as a line almost, this gives a unique and unusual colouring texture. You get twelve pens all in very usable colours and full instructions on the box to show you how to make these silver rainbow pens give you the effect that you want. They state on the box suitable for ages 5 years +, but they will be loved by people much older, whether you are doing colouring, or designs for your school or college work or even adults as a relaxing hobby.”
“These pens are gorgeous and are a lovely metallic colour outlined by another colour.I thought they might be a faff to start using but it was really straightforward following the instructions. They do bleed through paper so probably better for card or anything thicker.Create a lovely effect and would be ideal for any little one's colouring box!”
“I love these pens, the silver really pops on darker paper.Theyre good for decorating stones and smooth wood but not for colouring books as the ink soaks through thinner paper.I'd definitely recommend getting some black card to use these on as they look really good and you can really see colours.Hope you found my review helpful”
