I was looking for something to take the arm-ache out of degassing my 23l batches of wine and found this (which happened to be on offer). It looked to be more substantial than some all-plastic devices, so I went for it. Delivery was in 48 hours (impressive) and I wasn't disappointed by the whip. It's of robust construction with a long, solid metal shaft, which I can't imagine will bend or flake as some of its competitors have been reported to do, and should give years of service. I'm very pleased with the purchase, all round, and would recommend to others who might be thinking of buying it.

Whipping the wine makes all the difference to the filtration and clarity. You need a battery operated drill to use the whip, easy to get from Aldi or anywhere for about £25. You stick the whisk in and whisk the wine -- they say about 20 minutes, but, as always, a lot depends on ambient temperature etc. I put the Sauvignon Blanc into a polypin, I used the basic filter available from LB; when the polypin was finished there was not a shadow of sediment left, and the wine was clear as a bell.

Hi, would love a little video on degassing as I am just guessing my way around this part of the process and I'm worried I don't do enough or do too much. Many thanks.
