“A rich, hoppy and pretty strong beer. Mine came in at 5.8% with a lovely flavour. Unfortunately I had not worked out how to use the pressure valve on the barrel properly and ended up loosing a fair amount through leakage around the tap. Guess that just mean's that I'll have to try it again :)”

“I’m just drinking this having had it conditioning in a keg for about 2 months. It’s one of the nicest English ales I’ve ever made, strong but an absolute delight to drink, rich colour and has a beautiful mouth feel to it. This will definitely be one for repeat ordering, beautiful.”

“This beer is strong (6%) and hoppy (1 pint before bed and I slept like a log!). Probably the best beer I’ve ever brewed. I like dark Leff beer and this gave it a run for its money.”

“Nice simple kit, good instruction, nice fresh hops. Makes a nice strong ale, has a caramel/honey taste with a lingering hit of the Fuggles and Goldings. Very good, clear, good carbonation from bottles that have only conditioned for 5 weeks after bottling. Will make this again one day, i am sure.”

“This is my 2nd batch and the quality is still superb - so simple to brew and thanks guys for the detailed instructions .........You get a great taste from the hops and yet you don't get the sharpness which I find sometimes over powers a beer with a 6% or high alcohol content. This one is so easy to drink but beware after a couple you feel the strength kicking in........Highly recommended.”
