Started brewing at Christmas and already have two barrels. One of those barrels is for experimenting with different ales, but the other barrel is now permanently earmarked for the awesome Guinea's Stout. I love it, the wife loves it and I've had to lock it away from my son because he loves it too! The flavour is smooth and creamy and extremely moreish.

This was bought for me along with a starter kit for Christmas/birthday. Very easy to make following the instructions closely. I tried it after only a week after bottling (could not wait) it still has quite a bitter taste but still pleasant. I am drinking it 2 weeks on and the taste has mellowed and is very easy to drink, probably a little too easy. So in future will leave it bottled for 2 weeks at least before drinking. In conclusion an excellent kit and the first I have ever made and will definitely be buying again in the future.

Have made two other kits that were both good, however this blows them both away. Well worth the extra couple of pounds . I make a batch of stout for my father-in-law for Christmas....I really don’t think he will see any of it! As per the other review to date good at three weeks better the longer you leave it! I will be sticking with this kit from now on ( along with Belgium Strawberry ale).

Have made two other stout kits which produced a great beers. However after trying the Belgian Strawberry with great success thought I would try others in the range. Wow best Stout and only a few pounds extra...well worth it, Will be my go to Stout from now on! Father in Law will love it if I don't drink it all!

I made this kit in January 17 and my starting gravity was 1.048 and finished at 1.012 hence my ABV was around 4.9% whereas it should have been a little higher. I put this down to the fact that my kitchen is a cold place and even though my wife's hill walking coat wrapped round the fermenting bucket kept the chill out I just could not maintain a steady temperature. Having said all that the finished beer is wonderful and well worth making. I tried the stout after two weeks of being bottled and it was pleasant enough however after five weeks and two days to be precise the beer has developed further and the full flavour is coming through. So my advice is don't rush drinking it. Talking of flavour I dry hopped with the willamette hops provided and these give the stout a smooth herbal and ever so slight black currant flavour which is extremely pleasant and refreshing, you get a dry burnt aftertaste on the back of the tongue which I would expect in this type of beer. It also retains a creamy head which I like in my beers. All in all a great beer which I will definitely be making again.
