The beer that I am now drinking - made from this kit - is easily on a par with any of my favourite commercial IPA's. My advice would be not to rush things. The instructions say that primary fermentation should take around ten days, but if you can get a good constant 20 degree temperature, then I would recommend letting it go on for 15 -17 days. I added the challenger hops at day 10, and then transferred to my pressure barrel on day 17 with a final gravity reading down at 1.004. That was back at the end of April. The beer is now bright and clear, with a great creamy head. It has a wonderful crisp biscuit taste topped with a fresh hop hit. Each pint I pour just gets better and better. It's an ideal summer drink, and I will definitely be doing this again.

The first of these kits I have done,I have the winter warmer now ready to bottle, and 4 other of these kits to brew If the other ones taste as good as the Spire then Bingo I would certainly recommend this ale

This is a great IPA. Really impressed with it. It's a strong beer with a great taste. Will definitely be putting another brew on soon.

Left this in the fermenting bin for three weeks in total (two weeks after adding the hops) and it is something else! Not overly hoppy but enough to give a good bitter edge. I batch-primed and left a bit more in the bin than I normally do but the result was less sediment in the bottles. I am definitely doing this one again - as with all the Craft Brewery products I've tried to date, you really can't go wrong with this ale.

I recently attended a demo session and was interested in home brewing. I came out of the shop with bucket, barrel , thermometer , tubes etc, I was excited at the prospect of brewing my own beer. 40 years ago my dad brewed his own beer and wine and it never did me or my mates any harm. I started with the spire ipa , barrelled for 3 weeks before sampling and what a fantastic drink, so much so that its nearly gone. Try to keep the initial fermentation around 20 degrees c. Probably the finest home brewed beer I\'ve ever had. The taste is as good as any ipa beers I\'ve tasted Don\'t be tempted to drink too much in one session

This was my first time with home brew and got instant success with this kit. Process was easy and instructions were good with practical tips. The beer taste is just as described, floral or fruity with bitter finish. I was afraid of this being too much bitter, but was actually very much to my liking. Going to try the gold digger lager next.

Sampled this beer for the first time this weekend..quality! Mine was bottle conditioned and it turned out great, tastes great, smells great, looks great, only thing is it goes down too easily! Cannot recommend this kit enough as I'm certainly gonna do this again.

I was surprised by the time this kit recommended for brewing, however, I stuck to the letter and after its 10 days initial fermentation and dry-hopping, I put it in a barrel to serve up at our Christmas party. What a success! This brew has a very full complex taste, and a delightful hoppiness. It was a big hit with the CAMRA crew as well as the standard party topers. The 23 litres went quickly with much compliment to me as brewer, so I'm passing it onto you as supplier! Be warned, it slips down easily, perhaps too easily for a beer of 6%+ abv.
