“Upgraded the 600 Eccoflow in bioflow M with a 1000 (the max size that will fit). Very pleased with its performance. I have the outlet facing the back wall slightly and pushing forward. It has my row of Valli gently swaying and bent over and continues to sway my ground plants are front, just past the half way mark back towards the filter box. What is nice, is it clears the water in a more gentle way, so that food stays in the tank a short while before getting sucked in. This was in a newly setup aquarium with wood covered in biofilm, after I transferred my filter media from my 110 with 600 eccoflow, the Sterbai Corydorus set to work. Needless to say, there was detritus everywhere, but the tank cleared nicely. After a day, I took out the floss and rinsed and was pleased to see everything that it had mopped up. The top basket working down the filter, contains floss, course, course, medium. Second basket, Fine, Cirax, Cirax. I see people muck about but the filters have two outlets, one for aquarium water with detritus removed, which is the main flow that moves around the tank, so you need this to be mechanically filtered, and then the bottom basket biologically filters the rest of the flow. This means the bottom basket does not get too dirty and you then don’t have to touch it as often. I dose for low tech setup which is little and not often but readings are NH3=0, NO2=0, NO3= 20 - 30”
