The electrician is the Victorinox Alox Pioneer, with the small cross head/flat head screwdriver/tin opener tool swapped out for a really handy, beautifully designed little wire stripping knife. I had one way back in the 90s and regretted giving it away. It’s lovely to have one again and enjoy the way Victorinox precision and quality are still maintained. It’s exactly the same neat little package of tools that I enjoyed in my twenties. I have recently been enjoying the Leatherman knifeless Rebar EDC because it carries so many tools in such a sturdy little package and is legal for edc in the uk. The Electrician is an ideal companion to the Rebar edc because I need a legal pocket knife to go along with this and because the Rebar gives me all the screwdriver capabilities I need ( I also carry a small zip pouch with an adapter and a selection of driver bits) so I don’t miss the small screwdriver that’s missing on the Electrician. However, when I am not carrying the Rebar or another multi tool I prefer to pocket my standard Victorinox Pioneer, because, so often, I use the small screwdriver/tin opener tool for Posi and Philips cross head screws and honestly that’s a more important capability for me than having a second knife blade. The Alox range are superior to the standard red plastic vicorinox knives. The tools are more robust, the back spring is stronger and the handle is slimmer, much more durable, really grippy and also very attractive. With the two layer versions of the Alox Pioneer, you get a handle thickness and weight that are sleek and comfortable in the pocket but large enough in the hand to get stronger grip while working. I think the Pioneer and Electrician are the optimum knife based pocket tools for me and maybe the best SAK designs ever. Big shout out to Koch and Köchain too! A warm efficient family business with great customer service and values. Thank you.
