“The kit is made up of a larger insert to fit in the wall of the IBC with a separate convertor to fit the 1" pipe which seems inefficient and will leave a long plastic piece which will make the convertor liable to damage. So, I wasn't terribly impressed. If this was explained in the website item for the kit I didn't see it.”

The image does fully illustrate the kit setup, but you are correct that the description could be more detailed. We've now broken down of each of these kits in more detail, in order to make this more obvious for future orders.
