“I Can’t recommend this product. 3 main issues. 100mm of recticel ridged insulation Is fitted. I’m not sure how this achieves a U value of .15 Compressible foam used to seal the hatch rather than rubber gasket. Foam doesn’t tend to last long and looses its ‘spring back’ after being compressed for extended periods. Catch does not pull the door tightly shut onto compressible foam even after repeated attempts at adjustment. I’ve just had an air test on my property and there was lots of air leakage through the hatch. It was sealed with silicone around the edges so all the leakage was through the trap door. If catch was better and rubber gaskets used rather than foam it could be a decent product”

“The plaster board back wasn't glued properly and the 4 screws holding it in where loose, so we had to take it out and glue a new board in”

“Quite disappointed in the build quality and fitting. Was replacing what I thought was a very poor loft hatch but unlike this it as at least made out of high density plastic. This hatch feels like it's made out of same plastic as disposable cutlery, brittle and bendy. If the loft opening deviates from a perfect rectangle this hatch warps to a rombus and that stops the door from closing. The insulation is regular polystyrene you find in boxed packing, very brittle, and already came with a few chunks torn out. Had to seal it with duct tape to stop further deterioration. The seals around the hatch are also not complete, leaving small openings into loft space. And there's no seal around the ceiling mount surface either. It's the only hatch that would fit my loft opening, otherwise would get something else.”

“The side that is screwed to the joists is too short. This prevents it it be inserted over plasterboard. If you cut the plasterboard then hatch is not flush with ceiling, the hatch is sunk. I will need to get something new that has exactly same with and length but that will blend into plastering and has a deeper case.”
