About Jericho Coffee Traders:

Kiwi James and his wife Lizzie had always been in love with the idea of having their own coffee business, often scheming about how they would go about starting it up.

The opportunity came in 2009 when they found a beautiful Vespa trike for sale on the side of the road, and both thought: “that needs a coffee machine on the back of it”! And so, Jericho Coffee Traders was born!

Now we have a thriving online business and three locations in Oxford, UK - our Espresso bar on the High Street, our Cafe at the Oxford Castle, and our Cafe & Roastery on Osney Mead - all serving delicious espresso and filter coffees accompanied by locally made pastries and cakes.

Had a great, and very educational, time finding out about the basics of being a barista. Lily was an excellent teacher and was very kind when looking at our efforts at latte art. Can’t wait to apply my learning from the session.

A very enjoyable and informative experience. I purchased it for my husband's 60th and proved to be a perfect gift. Lily was excellent: very knowledgeable, welcoming and friendly. Would recommend it to others.

Great course and loved learning about different coffees and methods to learn how to do latte art. Instructor was enthusiastic and really great teaching us. But consider not being too hands on with the candidates. Give them room to relax and get a feel of the equipment for themselves.

Lilly was an excellent trainer and took us through some coffee theory, a ‘cupping’ coffee tasting and then practicing extraction and latte art on the machine. Really good fun and informative.

This course was just my speed as a beginner who has an underutilized home rig. Lily explained the basics of why coffee tastes the way it does and how to calibrate the different variables in order to get what we want out of our daily brew. I learned a lot that I can apply at home. The latte art bit was very enjoyable; we took advantage of the low stakes atmosphere and made some truly horrific shapes in our mugs. Would recommend.
