A fine example of Morgon Cru Beaujolais. The wine has aromas of cherry and raspberry fruit, floral iris & peony with notes of exotic spice. On the palate there is good weight and density and a lovely velvety texture. Blackcurrant and raspberry fruits appear alongside cherry and a hint of wild strawberry. There are also additional complex notes of wood-smoke, vanilla spice and undergrowth.
Vignerons de Bel-Air is a leading Beaujolais producer, headed by Philippe Marx, and has won numerous awards for wine quality whilst retaining their reputation for value for money.
This is a high quality Morgon which can be cellared 3-4 years as well as enjoyed now.
Food Match: Terrines, leg of lamb, shepherd's pie, game (venison, boar, pheasant), charcuterie, traditional French Coq au Vin, pork tenderloin, creamy cow's milk cheeses (try Reblochon, Saint Marcellin, Saint Felicien)
