Grape variety: 100% Primitivo, unoaked
This Demeter certified, biodynamic Primitivo is a bright ruby red in colour. On the nose, aromas of black cherry and violets leap from the glass. The palate is soft and smooth with notes of sweet black cherries and blackcurrant fruits combined with notes of cinnamon and cloves supported by lovely soft tannins. Well balanced with a fresh acidity and a long, fruity finish.
Abruzzo wine cooperative, Cantina Orsogna, has 1100ha of vineyards planted high in the hills, situated close to both the Maiella National Park and the Adriatic coast of central Italy, and produces nearly all of its wines organically; one third under biodynamic principles.
Serve this intense red with dry cured meats and mature cheeses.
