Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin "Yellow Label" Brut NV Champagne, France
"Yellow Label" is blended from over 50 wines taken from different Crus (vineyards) and several vintages to produce the house style – all from the three Champagne grape varieties, and is usually around 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier – depending on the wine. Around 35% of the blend utilises older, reserve wines with the rest being from the latest vintage. Minimum of 3 years in VCP's cellars before release to the market.
Producer Tasting Note:
Golden-Yellow colour with tiny bubbles. An aromatic profile dominated by notes of white and yellow fruits like pear, apple, and peach. Hints of citrus fruits like mandarin and grapefruit blend harmoniously with gourmand aromas of brioche. The flavours of pear, peach, and pastry are enhanced by a touch of dried fruit from ageing on the lees.
