Joseph Perrier Cuvee Royale Brut Champagne (Gift Boxed), France
Grapes: A blend of 35% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 30% Pinot Meunier
Bright, pale yellow. On the nose, there are abundant, ripe orchard fruits, particularly pear, with a hint of spices. Incisive Chardonnay on entry, then fine, mature Pinot Noir and Meunier fruit on the mid-palate.
"An attractive, yellow-citrus style with plenty of zesty acidity on the palate. The drive and richness here are impressive. Drink now." James Suckling 91/100
The House of Champagne Joseph Perrier was established in 1825, and has been under the ownership of the same family (Pithois) since 1888. Now in the very capable hands of Jean-Claude Fourmon, a direct descendent of Paul Pithois, Joseph Perrier own roughly 21 hectares of vineyards on the Northern Slopes of the Valle de la Marne, which satisfies 30% of their production and ensures consistency and quality. Joseph's Cuvée Royale Brut NV is aged in Roman Cellars for a minimum of 3 years.

Bought this as a present and it was perfect, the nicest champagne I've had. I will definitely be ordering this again.

Drink this Champagne at Loch Fyne restaurants, Perfect with seafood and on its own. Great value and in my opinion far better than some more expensive option

1st came across this champagne in a hotel in the Brecon Beacons, you won't generally find this on the shelves in the shops which makes the excellent delivery service stand out even more. If you usually buy Moët or Veuve Cliquot then you really should consider the Joseph Perrier (similar price bracket) as it really does stand up against them with ease.
