This 40l coolbox uses a compressor to achieve similar levels of performance and efficiency to a full-size domestic fridge freezer. It features a digital interface - simply set your desired temperature - and will also tell you the current internal temperature of the box. Compressor coolboxes are able to freeze as well as cool, almost regardless of the outside temperature. This unit is very quiet in operation - only 8db when the compressor is running, so is ideal for running overnight too.  Key Features Foam cavity with German production microcells for a better insulation. The basic concept and logical operation of this fridge freezer appear to be sound. However and Force 4 is aware of this there are discrepancies in the manual which is poorly written in the English version. It is particularly confusing that the mode indicator uses a red and green symbol when the light indicator uses green and white. It would appear that in fact even with a very large battery bank as on many vessels it cannot operate in economy mode as a freezer as once the voltage drops below 12.5 V though the batteries still have a considerable power left the freezer will shut down. It is also unclear as to whether the operation is effective if the freezer is in a closed but ventilated compartment with through airflow say if placed under a seat. On a number of occasions the temperature has inexplicably risen to say -11. I personally feel that the lid is on the wrong way round in that it would be more logical if the controls and the lid catch were at the same end. In certain installations such as mine it is inconvenient as built. For the above reasons I have rated it as a Three ,when one learns how to use it it may well be that that figure could be increased. Also your catalogue wrongly states the length dimension of the freezer cabinet which may deter people from fitting it.
