Galix Framed PV Solar Panel 75W Reviews

5 Rating 3 Reviews
Read Force 4 Chandlery Reviews

A range of high efficiency, "back contact" solar panels in sleek aluminium frames, perfect for use on board and areas subject to periods of partial shade. The identical frame lengths make combining solar panel sizes very easy for uniform installations on gantries. They have the advantage of delivering additional charging power over less surface area compared with conventional cell panels. They combine PERC (Passivated Emiter Rear Cell) technology with a "Shingle" cell layout which results in highly reliable internal electrical connections whilst also creating an attractive black finish. • High light absorbency in low light levels • By-pass diode configuration avoids "hot spots" that occur in partial shade conditions Available in 3 sizes; 75W - Peak Power: 75W • Size: 1031 x 405 x 35mm • Weight: 4.0kg 100W - Peak Power: 100W • Size: 1031 x 530 x 35mm • Weight: 5.8kg 150W - Peak Power: 150W • Size: 1031 x 785 x 35mm • Weight: 9.2kg These panels are fitted with a short length of cable complete with MC4 connectors on the end allowing for a variety of installation options.

I bought the Galix 100w solar panel to replace two older panels that combined when new gave just under 100w and satified my boat needs for many years. The new framed galix ocupies the same space more or less where one had been located. Though it is early days my PV input seems to be greater. I chose to control the panel with a PWM regulator on the grounds of cost, reading various articals this would not seem to give the maximum output compared to MPPT control. All I can say is it is simple and works only time and experiance will be the judge.
