“After about 12 years the plastic bearing on the wind speed sensor gets a bit 'sticky' and erratic, eventually only moving in 20kn of wind (and showing 2kn!). This simple kit (expensive for what it is, but saves several hundred pounds on a complete new sensor) refurbishes the wind speed sensor with new wind cups thrown in. Easy to do, but don't try it at the masthead. Several YouTube videos help. Worth cleaning off the direction sensor and the photocell as well. New battery maybe (I didn't).”
