I purchased online the light brown shoe size 44 (as I am normally a shoe size 10), but had to exchange them as my toe was near the end of the shoe, so I went for the size 45, which fit really well and are very comfortable. I have a reasonably wide foot and the shoes fit nicely on the width. The soles grip nicely on the deck and the gusset on the sides allows the shoe to flex when kneeling down.

Great service but unfortunately my boat shoes were not a good fit, so I returned them and will visit the store to try on a different size. Otherwise, all good!

I got asked to review Navy but my delivery was for light brown which was what I ordered. Fitted well and very smart. First time I have ever ordered shoes on line.

Getting the correct size is always difficult online. I should have ordered two sizes and returned one. The shoes are slightly too big and crease at the laces - I didn’t have time to change them.

I've never understood why designers put a lace around the top of the shoe - it is not adjustable and seems to serve no purpose other than providing decoration and adding cost. That said, it's not a great problem; and the important thing is that the lace one uses to tie the shoe functions perfectly, with exactly the right number of holes meaning that the shoe is easy to put on and gives a perfect fit. Talking of fit, it is generous, and I had to go down one size. Frustrating that they are continental sizes rather than proper UK measurements, and a shame that half sizes are not available. That all said, the shoes appear to be made well, and I found them comfortable to wear over a ten-hour period. Most significant was the grip on deck – fantastic! I had not realised just how bad my older shoes had got, and these Windward ones are far better, giving me renewed confidence on deck.
