Scrubbis Catching Boat Hook with Extending Pole Reviews

3.3 Rating 3 Reviews
Read Force 4 Chandlery Reviews

Attach a mooring line with a simple pull! The unique design of the 2-in-1 Catching Boat Hooks head allows you to thread a mooring ring in one movement. There is no need to use a "messenger" line - just use your mooring line from the outset, even if it's doubled up. Simple to use, you clip the mooring line onto the hook, catch the red hook on the mooring ring and pull. The hook itself is multi-use. One side is a conventional boat hook, the other threads mooring lines. The anodised aluminium pole has a quick and easy twist lock action so it can extend from 111cm to 197cm. It will also fit the Scrubbis hull cleaner. Features: For mooring rings with up to 11mm gauge steel For mooring ropes from 8mmØ to 2x22mmØ Hook weight: 140g Pole Weight: 500g Pole Length with hook: 141cm to 227cm

Not great. Really difficult to release so I think this is one purchase that will get used infrequently.

I think this is the most useful mooring tool I have ever come across, simple to use and saves a lot of frustration when mooring up to a floating bouy. Brilliant.

I haven’t yet used this boat hook on a buoy. Practising at home it seemed fine but I’m sceptical as to whether it will work smoothly when under pressure. I shall report back once tried.
