Propshield is a lanolin based antifouling grease, which is combined with a special combination of corrosion inhibitors and other additives, which together provide protection from corrosion and prevent marine growth, including barnacles, on all types of stern gear. Propshield is suitable for all metal surfaces including bronze, stainless steel and aluminium as well as painted surfaces such as outdrives & outboards. Detailed application instructions are supplied. Available in: 175g or 375g 175g treats a 12 metre single screw vessel for 6-7 months coating one propeller, one shaft and one rudder OR treats one outdrive leg below the waterline on a 10 metre vessel for 6-7 months. Smaller vessels - will have enough Propshield for 2 or more seasons. 375g treats a 12 metre twin screw vessel for 6-7 months coating both propellers, both shafts and both rudders OR treats two outdrive legs below the waterline on a 10 metre vessel for 6-7 months.

An assessment of the effectiveness of this product will have to await the next lift-out. It is, however, much more diffcult to put on than may appear from the instructions, not least because becaue it melts at quite a high temperature - inconvenient in a boat yard.
