We bought this for a cruise round Cornwall in June. Needless to say it didn't get used but on returning home to Neyland Marina the weather was hot and sunny. The parasol covered the cockpit of our Bavaria 34 (1999) very well and we could sit in the shade. The boom had to be made a bit higher with the topping lift to accommodate it. Having put it up once and got the length of the lines right it will be much quicker next time. Obviously this is not like a Bimini, the box clearly states "only use on idle boats"!

Excellent for our river cruiser. Covers the whole cockpit and you can angle it as you need to.

Used this on a motor launch this summer in Greece and it was brilliant. Putting it up requires two people (one to hold the base in place whilst the other attaches the straps) but only takes 30 seconds once you have figured it out the first time. We used it in windy conditions without any trouble at all. Would certainly recommend.
