We purchased two of these, marketed as "designed for the marine environment". We've not tried them out on the boat yet, but they work OK. They do seem rather flimsy for use on board a boat - the brackets are of thin, brittle plastic. It is difficult to set the thermostat to a particular temperature as there is no scale on the control. Worse still, one of the heaters rotated and slid in its brackets. Seago sent me another pair of brackets, with the same result, and seemed to think that there was not really a problem. I had to insert some thin packing for the brackets to hold the tube firmly. Not ideal on a boat, where heaters - and other gear - need to be properly secured. All in all, we were a little disappointed with the heaters. We'll see how they fare on the boat.

Assembly was straightforward, and I have them freestanding on their feet. I can understand why no scale has been supplied for the thermostats, since thermostats can vary, and the instructions to run the heaters until the boat reaches the desired temperature then turn the thermostats back until they just switch off is perfectly sound, but some markings to give a starting point would have been helpful. I can see myself adding pencil marks at the end of winter to make re-installing them at the end of the season quicker.

Ordered Seago branded heaters as described on the website and had poor quality (I can only presume Chinese ones) delivered. The power plug into the heater on both units is such a loose fit that the slightest movement causes the heaters to stop working, I secured the plugs with cable ties to ensure constant power supply. The only reason I haven’t returned them and bought elsewhere was that a cold freeze was due that weekend so had no option but to install and hope they worked correctly.

The supply/service was good. Not really had enough time to assess its performance, but expect it to be ok.

Haven’t actually used these yet. They are still in transit to their final destination. Delivered to me promptly and as described.
