“I bought this cable because Garmin's NMEA 2000 T-connectors have been redesigned and are not fully compatible with the previous design. The spline in the plug/socket is now rotated 45˚ so although you can connect new and old style, you can't mount them both on a panel. The simplest, cheapest way to extend an old backbone is to use a short backbone cable between the old and new T-connectors. This product is that cable, and it does the job without any fuss.”
