Our rescue GSD was a big chewer when we got him (one year ago). He is nevertheless a bit fussy about what he enjoys chewing! And anything too soft (like soft toys) he quickly destroys. We got him a deer antler (our last dog had one) but I later read that Vets don't recommend these as they are unforgiving and some dogs have cracked their teeth on them. This olive wood chew is great because it allows him to chew without us worrying that the material is too hard. We also love that it is a natural product not made from rubber or plastic. One small downside is that it makes an almighty mess (lots of wood chippings) after he has chewed on it whereas there is no debris when dogs chew on an antler. Our dog has calmed down a lot in terms of his chewing habits so the olive branch is more an occasional toy rather than one he chews every day. This hopefully means it will last a while since they are quite pricey!

These are fantastic. My 8 month old loves his stick. Lasts long and doesn't break up like a stick from the garden.

My puppy likes to pick up stick which is always a worry that he might hurt himself, so being able to give him an alternative that satisfies his need to chew different textures, and I know it will not splinter is great.

This is a great boredom breaker for my Labrador. She spits out all the tiny bits of wood.
