The tap is suitable for a standard ½" UK garden hose that is fitted with a ½" Hozelock or snap-on hose connector. It also works as a great back-up valve.Because the outlets on IBC's are so large, it can be difficult to control the flow. Attaching a tap reduces it down and makes it easier to fill jerry cans, watering cans and other containers.The ½" tap can be simply unscrewed and swapped when needed, which may come in handy when swapping to a larger sized hose.
