About Coffee Hit Ltd:

I started Coffee Hit in 2008, when I was always buying cool coffee gear from USA and Australia as it was not availble in the UK. I wanted great coffee for my customers and at home!
I wanted to help cafes and people make great coffee at home. I wanted to show people it didnt need to be expensive and great coffee can be fun and simple.

“Looks wise, it saves some counter space. It doesn't help with reducing pop-corning at all, but at least I could use it to pump the air to push the retained grind through. Like another reviewer mentioned, this should have been shaped like a concertina.”

“I bought the Baratza single-dose hopper for two reasons. Firstly, to reduce popcorning. Secondly, to use as a bellows to get any leftover grounds out of the burr chamber. Unfortunately the product doesn't really deliver on either front. A lot of popcorning still occurred (it may have been slightly less, but it's hard to tell given that the hopper is opaque), and because the material is so rigid it can only push a tiny amount of air through the burr chamber. I have since reverted back to the original Encore hopper, and I would only recommend buying this single-dose one if you much prefer the aesthetics of it.”

“I never dump a full bag of beans into the hopper and just blindly grind until it 'feels enough'. the single does hopper lid is good to weigh coffee into and once the coffee is ground you can use the lid to act as bellows to blow out the last bit of coffee is retention is an issue too. Maybe it's just because all baratza grinders have a large conical hopper, but the single does hopper does make the grinder look a little weird.. It's definitely nothing egregious though”

“I was hoping to use the lid to push down the coffee dust but he top is too rigid and the neck of the hopper to short. There is a too small indentation on the lid where it meet the Baratza logo and this make very difficult to push it up and down because you have to center exactly this indentation of the lid each time. To create pumping effect, you need to do this very quickly and is nearly impossible to do it without hitting the logo. The lid should be taller and made of soft rubber and should have concertina shape!”

“I got this for 2 reasons: I use different coffees regularly and I hate how large hoppers look on home grinders. This is a really sleek hopper, and the rubber lid is great for dosing into. I like to also use it as a bellow to get any retained coffee out of the burrs. Works great, can't fault it.”
