I started Coffee Hit in 2008, when I was always buying cool coffee gear from USA and Australia as it was not availble in the UK. I wanted great coffee for my customers and at home!
I wanted to help cafes and people make great coffee at home. I wanted to show people it didnt need to be expensive and great coffee can be fun and simple.

“I bought this for my trusty Malkonig Vario, which has been going strong in daily use for over 10 years. The original portaholder had developed a crack in the plastic and I was looking to replace like for like until I saw this smart alternative. I bought it because it looked more robust. It is very solid, well made and good-looking, and much much more. It is even better than I expected. It fits the Vario perfectly; it holds my Gaggia Classic portafilter much more securely - no wobbles; the metal collar that sits under and around the grind outflow prevents the grounds from scattering and it also mounds the coffee in the centre of the portafilter so that when you tamp the grounds they don't spread onto the portafilter rim. Finally, the shelf underneath needs very little wiping because there is hardly any spillage of grounds, but it's also much easier to brush or wipe without removing the whole thing because unlike the old holder it doesn't have a lip at the bottom. A brilliant design! Highly recommended.”
