“Lots of USA Harley riders rate this stuff, thought I would give it a try as my current oil also bought from Opie Oils "Amsoil Transmission Oil" seems somewhat lackluster at helping address harleys clunky gearbox. Gearchanging on these machines is brutal, the Redline is thick and pink and immediately noticed a difference, gearbox went from a clang in first to a more smoothed out clunk, gearchanges are also similar smoother clunks and the changes seem less brutal. Bike has an Ezi Shift and custom PTFE lined rod end/heim joints. I will add I tried to use as specified and ended up using the entire quart just like the last change. Bike is a 2022/23 M8 Softail Street Bob FXBBS.”
“Trying out this v-twin transmission oil on my Moto Guzzi 1200 Breva. Only done a few miles so far due to the crappy weather but the clunking into gear is getting quiter and smoother. Will see how this progresses as I rack up more miles.”
“Excellent transmission fluid! Currently, I’m using very good, JASO MA2 engine oil, but my Harley has pre-unit engine construction. Why wouldn’t I use benefit of using dedicated transmission fluid for my gearbox if I can? Especially oil like Red Line? It’s an excellent gearbox oil. It was recommended to me by a drag racer from the USA. He drag races his Harleys using heavy duty transmission oil from Red Line. You won’t get silky smooth gear changes like in some bikes, but it’s because Harley gearbox is constructed like that. Don’t believe, when somebody tells you that. Gearbox feels robust and heavy duty. Gear changes are sure and definite. There is no fake neutrals between gears and finding neutral when stop is easy with a nice click.”
