“Great boots, but mine need a little wearing in, probably because of my strange feet. A bit hard on the soles till I've walked them in, though they're nice and cushioned underfoot. A bit hard around the top of the heel, but just need to wear my heels in to them - fairly standard. I've broken various toes (hypermobile joints) and they're not as wide-fitting at the front as I normally go for, but I think I'll get used to them. Also, just above where your toes join the rest of your foot is where the shiny toecap joins on to the suede, so there's a slight internal ridge if you have a high instep. Wearing them around the house for a few days and for short distances out, then they will be comfortable as anything. Someone else wrote that they'd been hiking in theirs and I'm hoping these will be good for all purposes too.A lovely-looking boot and the double zips are fab so it's not hard levering in and out of the boot. I've broken both ankles in the past, so that's great. You can adjust the lacing at the front to pull the fit in more tightly or loosely as you need. Great that they come with spare laces - thanks! Darker than in the photo as people have mentioned - my husband thought I'd bought yet more black ankle boots, but I held them to the light and got away with it ;-) The packaging is all beautiful, recyclable and it arrived promptly, along with some gorgeous soft socks in the sale.
