Great boot for occasional use, wouldn’t recommend them for walking the dogs every day on a flat gravel coast path though, mine have fallen apart after just 8 months, leather has cracked and split, soles coming away from upper. All this with regular cleaning and re-proofing of leather using niwax. The last pair I had lasted 4 years before getting to this stage!

Very comfortable boots, but both pairs I have owned have been returned to the shop, the first after 10 months, the second replacement pair after 13 months. Both have initially been dry, but have then started to leak, which became apparent when walking in wet grass. This was despite me washing and treating the boots as per the Lowa instructions. On one boot the upper had begun to peel away from the sole. I have received a full refund.

Excellent boot. Very light weight for a sturdy leather boot. Plenty of room in the fit for thick and thin socks. Comfortable right out of the box. I've done a couple of short 7km walks on hilly forestry commision sites and have had no signs of rubbing. I don't see why if cared for properly they won't last for years.

I've had them for a week and while they're comfortable, breath well and keep my feet dry they're simply dangerous on wet surfaces. I've taken them for a woodland walk on the weekend, my wife had a pair of old, worn trainers (long story) and I had Renegades. I nearly killed myself once falling from a wet rock, forget about standing on damp wood stumps, wet or covered in moss rocks or crossing streams. My wife had no issues whatsoever in the same places wearing her cheap unbranded trainers. Today I nearly tripped when walking into my local store (tiled floor) from the rain. It has never, ever happened to me in any shoes I own in my life. Since they have been worn outdoors I can't return them so now I've got a £150 paperweight I can only use on sunny days. Stay away if you're thinking of getting anywhere near the water or rain.

3 months x 30 days x 7 miles off road dog walking in all weathers. Best boots yet. Comfortable from the start. Genuinely waterproof unlike some others that make this claim. Easy on, easy off, twice a day. Hardly any noticeable wear so far. They seem to support my ankles well. I am prone to twisting and spraining and it has not happened in these boots. They grip well even on wet wooden mossy walkways. Bought via Amazon.

A few months dog walking may not sound much but with my hound it's 3.5 miles twice a day off road every day in all English weathers. It's been a pleasure to wear these boots from the start. Comfortable, stable on rough ground and, above all, truly waterproof. Having dry boots and socks after a walk is important when you wear them twice a day. I've used other, not cheap, GTX boots claiming to be waterproof and putting damp boots back on on a rainy day is no fun. So far these Renegades have never let me down. I've worked out that I will do the equivalent of two "end to end" walks in a year so I will try to review again after this. (Bought from Amazon)
