“For the price, this is a great watch for everyday use. Smart, accurate and easy to live with.
I got fed up of my Samsung smart watch running out of charge after just a few hours and decided to revert to a basic watch. I decided the Seiko automatic movement, with day and date in the Lorus was ideal and this has proved correct. You cannot manually wind the watch but that doesn't bother me - a brief shake gets it started (if it's not been worn a while) and wearing it a few hours gives it the wind to run overnight and longer.
I chose the silver cased model as I felt this likely to be less prone to scratching than the black ones. That said, I only got the black faced option, when I would have preferred blue but the black is still nice so no big deal.
Being a weirdo I like the glass window in the case back. It's pointless but gives me amusement. I think proper Seiko windows are larger (more of the back is glass) and fancier, but for the price it's class.
10 bar water resistance is great for me. I'm not a regular swimmer and would generally take my watch off before going in anyway, so 10 bar is ample against splashes and washing.
If I did have to make one criticism, it would be the strength of the night-time luminosity. The dial and finger markings do not stay luminous for very long when the lights go out. I've tried 'charging' near a strong light and initially the marks glow brightly, but they do fade very quickly.
Overall though, an excellent watch from a good stable.”
“Brilliant traditional automatic watch, great timekeeper. An automatic will never be as accurate as a quartz, but this one is as near as you'll get, only gaining about 30 seconds a week. I particularly like the sweep second hand, luminous dial, and the fact that it will never need expensive batteries.
