Ooooooh this is lovely. Not as oily as regular sunscreen, still got a shiny face though, but it goes on like a dream. Texture wise it's a bit weird but once you start massaging it in, it just turns into something smooth. Too bad about the shiny face though.

Nice texture, unscented so great for sensitive skin. Also leaves a not sheen to the skin.

Oil texture. Use very small amount is enough for face. It deepens into skin quickly without greasy but look soft. Recommend to use on body too.

I found this a bit too oily, even when using a tiny bit. I probably won't repurchase just because of the consistency.

One week into wearing this daily. This is gonna be a long review, but sunscreen is a medical product and I think my thoughts will be useful to many. I love the concept of this for a daily/low UV index/indoor sunscreen, and there's nothing else like it on the market; high UVA protection with medium SPF, only 2 filters which are both very stable and great UVA blockers, no unnecessary ingredients at all. In practice there's one huge problem: I cannot get nearly enough of this onto my face to get the rated protection. You're supposed to use somewhere between 1 ml and half a teaspoon (2.5 ml) for your face, but that's too much for me of any sunscreen, so I usually aim to get a full 1/2ml measure of sunscreen onto my face and hope for the best. Well, with this sunscreen, that's just not possible for me - it's an oil slick that doesn't ever dry down, and the yellowcast from the Tinosorb S is actually visible on me (I'm very pale obvs). Best I can do is half of the half ml measure. That's 1/4th of the mininum estimate of what's needed for the rated protection. The thing about SPF protection is it doesn't decrease in linear proportion to how much less you apply. If you apply half you likely don't get SPF 12,5, but closer to 1/4th, or SPF 6. So if you apply 1/4th of what's needed, real life SPF might be around 3. (I can imagine/speculate that this product gives better protection than most when under-applied, but I have no proof, it just "feels" that way.) Anyways, even SPF 3 or so is actually enough for me much of the year in Sweden, when the UV index is very low and days are short and I mostly want a little bit of plausible effect from a daily sunscreen. And right now in June, I'm using another SPF on top (Australian Gold SPF50 tinted - matte finish, also not possible to use enough of on face, don't trust the UVA protection with only 4% zinc oxide), and so far my freckles haven't intensified like they would've if I wasn't getting any SPF. My skin is getting more congested and I have a bit more blackheads & tiny whiteheads than when I use no sunscreen, but not as bad as with any other chemical sunscreens I've used so far. So I'm personally pretty happy with the purchase. But I get worried when I see comments saying "a little goes a long way", or "oily at first but dries down matte". I hope none of these people are relying on this for protection against skin cancer. Facetheory: please do keep making this, but I really think it needs more volatile solvents so it actually dries down a bit. Adding powders only helps to a point. I appreciate that you want it to be water- and alcohol-free for many reasons, but what about adding more lipid soluble volatiles - coconut alkanes? Isododecane?

Hi Suzanne Thanks for this. On the quantities recommended this usually includes your ears and neck too (british association or dermatologists) - so using the half teaspoon on just your face might be a little too much. On the solvents - different ones may cause the UV filters to crystalise in the formula. However this is great feedback and something we'll take on board to see if we can make it dry faster in future versions :) Jamie
