“I have used lots of Speedi Sleeves on my 1959 Sprite, and have never had problems with them. This one came with an installation tool that was longer than it usually is, which was very helpful. I fitted it to the shaft of a lever arm damper, with a new rubber lip seal. Most of the dampers you buy as reconditioned have nothing more than the rubber seal replaced, and you're lucky if that lasts much more than a year without the shaft being restored. This sleeve was about two millimetres too long, which was easy to rectify with a junior hacksaw and needle file.”
