“Unfortunately due to illness it was only myself at Soul Suites in Glasgow. Quite a difficult place to find, as the entrance is at the rear of the building and Sat Nav wasn't helpful, but thanks to Megan and my mobile phone managed to get there on time. Private room would be cosy for two folk and possibly a tight squeeze for 3. Bring your own water as only 500 ml provided complimentary. Private room has Infrared Sauna which isn't as brutally hot as a conventional sauna and thus you need to spend a fair chunk of time in there before jumping in the cold tub. I've done this once before in Ireland and was aware that lasting any length of time would be a challenge. Managed over 3 minutes the first time and over 4 the second. Being an old bloke I had to be careful to clamber out whilst I still could ( once I had sort of lost the feeling in my feet basically! ) . My internal system was certainly 'flushed out' , in fact most of the rest of the day I was frequenting the loo more than usual! Think this is a good thing lol. I play competitive tennis , and suffer from sore knees but after the cold treatment I could certainly feel the benefit. I was never happier in having heated seats in my car on the drive home as it does take a bit of time to feel 'normal' after a session. I certainly plan to do this again ( hopefully with the person who missed out this time) , but it will be an occasional thing rather than some of the folk there in the public room who do this regularly. Younger , braver and more resilient than me I would guess!”
