“The location was very nice & the afternoon tea was beautifully presented. Unfortunately, the sandwiches were crispy, as if they had been pre prepared & left out. The scones were very nice & the cream was delicious. The other sweets were a very odd combination-a profiterole with ice cream that had melted, a hideously sickly chocolate pot, some kind of burnt fruit tasting tart & a crème brûlée/caramelle. The first coffee was ok but the second decaf coffee was like dishwater. The manager had a very odd manner - first she told us quite curtly that we definitely did not have a booking for that day & then realised she was looking at the wrong date. I had forgotten to print the Wowcher and she was insistent & hovering until I sent her the email (I had quoted it on booking & showed the email/Wowcher to her on my phone) which was quite uncomfortable. We couldn’t start eating until this was done. The toilets in the hotel were really grim - no toilet paper, wet, sticky dirty floor & not hotel standard. A really disappointing afternoon tea & if we had paid full price, I would be asking for a refund.”
