“An enjoyable 2 nights mid winter break was had. Good plentiful full English buffet breakfast. Setting on shores of the Lakes gives beautiful views across Derwentwater and the mountains beyond. Great value for money. Staff were great too.”

“The location is good and the hotel has very nice gardens but the inside is tired and in need of a spruce up. The night we were there both the wifi and lift were down. The room was clean and warm (if a little small). The breakfast was pretty good with a decent choice of items on the hot buffet as well as cereal / fruit / toast etc. The staff were all very nice and helpful. If the owners took a bit more interest in the property it could be very special.”

“The decor is a touch dated and worn in places, however personally I found it really charming and as it markets itself as a muddy boot and dogs welcome stay it took nothing away from the place. The grounds are scrumptious absolutely stunning. Its an ideal location for any number of outdoor activities. The food was excellent, really good and I was surprised with the pricing. I have stayed in places with a similar location and payed twice as much. The feature that stood out to me and my partner more than anything were the staff , they were fantastic ! So warm and friendly and very accommodating the lady who checked us in was particularly nice and we had a good giggle with her. The place had a great vibe about it. A home from home would highly recommend.”
