“Staff is very lovely! Had a chat with bar man who was also the receptionist as well as the chef. Son wanted crisps while we had our welcome drinks but there was none left. So we simply waited for dinner. At dinner, my son and I was the first ones down and they didn’t have 2 pizza bases so I had to order something else. Didn’t fancy anything else on the menu, so tried to get something I always like which was steak. I was told I’d have to pay the surplus. However, I only ate half the steak as it was very very tough even at medium/well. There was customers dogs in the dining area, which my son and I felt uncomfortable about. When leaving I was told to pay £8 for the surplus but I had left card upstairs n battery died at dinner so they said I could pay at checkout. We retired to our room, me still hungry. We had twin room but the single bed was smaller than my sons at home. It is literally the width of the pillow. We both didn’t sleep well unfortunately. For breakfast I ordered full English and my son got porridge. The full English had one small sausage, one egg, one bacon, a mountain of beans, lots of mushrooms and loads of potatoes. Was shocking. My son loved his porridge but we had to leave so wanted to take away. A member of staff went to look for a container and came back with an unclean one. At which point we decided to just leave the breakfast and check out. Upon checkout, I was told the room had been settled so assumed out of courtesy the surplus of £8 was waived. Couple days later, I got an email stating I have £22 because the steak wasn’t included and i need to make a payment asap. I called up and all was sorted and the member of staff couldn’t be more apologetic but I don’t think I’d be returning sadly as staff are so nice. Really feel bad about writing such a review but there was too many little things to ignore.”
