“Good stay, very nice staff apart from 1 rather sullen and rude foreign chap with dark hair who was working bar on the Friday morning/lunchtime and breakfast on Friday and Saturday, he literally blanked myself and my wife on at least 2 occasions when we tried to ask him a question and disappeared through a door. We had dinner on our first night and it was excellent, breakfast was good on first morning though luke warm on some items, the second morning not so good, missing items that were on previous day, the sausage had changed to a veggie version without any note saying so and it was not nice, empty containers slow to be refilled. Room was a good size well kitted out, and generally clean, though decor was needing touched up in both room and bathroom, and a really dirty ceiling light in room, and a loose hand rail in shower, also missing a room pack with details in WiFi, break times, hotel info etc and no do not disturb sign for the door, the WiFi was really poor and only worked for a few mins then you had to log off and on again, but all in all everything else was good we enjoyed our stay and it's a nice location, a shame the leisure centre is closed, but there overall hotel had improved since our last couple of visits 3 to 4 years ago, it was a good value deal and if available again we would return.”

“Great value stay with excellent meal included although not a great deal to chose from as it was Sunday. . Staff all great but some things need improving. Room was clean with good bedding/towels and bathroom but bed was rather uncomfortable on one side as it sagged. First breakfast needed a lot of improvement with cold plates so food was stone cold, no saucers, ran out of jam and kitchen said none until next day! Second day was much better with excellent service, plates warmed and very good waiter. Would recommend as hotel in good location for Hexham, Hadrians wall, Dark Skies amid Newcastle.”

“Great stay at The George Hexham. Main hotel, bar area lovely. Food was excellent with very attentive staff. Room was good. Only downside was the bathroom. Rust in the bath.”

“It's ok but the Spa is closed and builders are working in the hotel no warning on the Wowcher website and would have been cheaper booking direct as the price is the same but no admin charges. Meals and service as expected but check your bill as overcharged for drinks and had to be refunded. Lovely view over the river perfect for summer but then expect to pay full price. Used this as a recce for my birthday in March but will be going somewhere else.”

“Great food comfortable room pool needs refurbishment but didn't stop us going in reception says it is getting knocked down and rebuilt in the new year Will definitely be going back”
