“On arrival thought hotel was derelict, very unkempt outside. Reception was better. Room ok but need updating. Hospitality tray very basic and cheap. No glass or plastic cup for water. Bed really big and comfortable. Breakfast again was just basic with cheap products. Hot food not refreshed therefore dried up and overcooked . No hot plates for food. Location good although close to road. Would only recommend if you want somewhere cheap to stay and don't expect any frills.”

“We stayed for one night DBB and it was a bit of a nostalgia trip for us as we used to stay here often many years ago. We were pleasantly surprised and impressed. Taking into account that the hotel is undergoing a refurbishment our room was clean, airy with a huge bed and the usual tea/coffee facilities. There is also free WiFi as well as free parking. The bar area, situated next to the restaurant, is comfortable and the bar well stocked with a good wine list as well. Our evening meal was very good, with something to appeal to all palates. Breakfast is also very good with a good hot selection as well as fruits and cereals. The staff are extremely helpful , pleasant and know their jobs. The added bonus to the hotel is that there are bus stops nearby so you can park up and take the bus to either Gloucester or Cheltenham. I enjoyed it so much I've booked again, taking my daughter this time instead of my husband.”
