“The castle is a fantastic place to stay. The castle itself is huge and it has so many elements to visit and see - grand hall for instance. The evening restaurant is a lovely place to eat and the food is top class. We did have afternoon tea and whilst the food was great I did get a bit frustrated with the time it took to be seated and overall it took half an hour after arriving and booking in to be given a cup of tea! I also noted the same happening to more people who arrived and got frustrated for them too. It's clear the afternoon tea rooms are also huge and very busy but I do think the booking in and seating could be improved so the experience and visit for afternoon tea can feel just right.”

“Staff very friendly & welcoming.Very dark which I suppose being a castle you might expect.Upgraded to executive room.Room very large but did not appreciate holes in the carpet.Light bulbs needed replacing in ceiling lighting.Dodgy electrics in bedside light.Everytime you touched or moved the wire the light bulb would start flickering or go out completely.Chair cover ripped down the side.Mattress & pillows quite uncomfortable.Room definitely needed some TLC.Food in brasserie was very good & enjoyable but service very slow.Food in restaurant not so.Very limited choice & not much to choose from.Service also very slow.Found that prices were nothing short of extortionate.If we had not got an offer would definately not of ate there.Found that breakfast was very good & service much quicker.The grounds were immaculate & very well cared for.Outside area was very nice to sit out on an evening.”

“What a fabulous place! I'd highly recommend this to anyone and definitely plan to go back. The place was stunning, absolutely beautifully presented and all the staff were incredibly friendly and helpul - nothing was too much trouble. The Wine Cellar (bar) was truly unique too and definitely recommended!”

“Second time staying at the castle. It is a fantastic hotel and so lovely to stay over for the evening. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent. Rooms were lovely and second time round we had a gorgeous suite with a roll top bath. Very good value and I will likely book this hotel again in the future.”
