“They told us Germany (cologne) during the euros. They phoned the next day and said they couldn’t do Germany because the hotels were booked (not my problem) and sent us to Paris instead. Had no choice over the matter. Also be careful if you choose airports outside of london or manchester, you will need to pay extra £20 pp (scam). They also tried to sell me breakfast etc to make more money (assuming man on the phone made commission of this as he was very pushy), they then sold us the same hotel including breakfast (for free as a gift from the man ). Overall, garbage for the money £160pp in the end for 3 nights in paris. ps, the hotel was not in the centre of paris, but on the outskirts. I wasn’t expecting world class, but still thought it’d be a better off booking this package than if i were to find flights and hotel myself. Moral of the story, don’t buy unless you got money to throw away.”

“Not as advertised, really poor service continues to call to ask me to pay more for a trip that was meant to be all included. Very disappointing and on top on it will not give me my money back”

“Our mystery holiday was a city break to Prague. We had a very easy, smooth flight and although not what I would consider a 4* hotel, it was clean and comfortable with good breakfast options. We were lucky to arrive early day 1 and leave late day 3 so we had 3 full days to explore the absolutely stunning city of Prague. We would definitely do another wowcher mystery holiday!”

“My partner and I bought a mystery holiday and it was initially revealed that we were going to Dublin. When I got in touch with the travel agent, Weekender, they amended our destination and days to Lloret De Mar, Spain, for an extra night at an additional £59 per person. The additional day meant that we had 3 nights and 3 full days, much better than the original Dublin offering. The flights were with Ryanair and didn't include the seats or any transfers so we arranged this ourselves with ease. Weekender sent travel documents and log ins to Ryanair so that you could check in online easily. There were no bags included either aside from one small bag, which was perfect for us as it was only 3 days. The hotel, Bluesea Copacabana, was pretty basic but it was clean and very central, not far from the sea and away from the party side of the town. The lobby was really clean and the staff on the reception were friendly. The breakfast was included and it was a decent buffet. The walls were thin and at times you could hear the person in the room next to you, but we had read this in previous reviews so we knew to take earplugs and thankfully we were a few floors up and away from the bar. There were no hairdryers or fans, the air-conditioning in our room didn't work but for the price of the getaway we weren't expecting much and were pretty pleased with the hotel overall. There were a lot of restaurants heavily geared to English tourists, serving fish and chips and full English breakfasts. We wanted to avoid those to enjoy a full authentic experience and found some lovely places down some alley ways: Komo Pez (great sea food tapas) and La Fusta are a must if you enjoy authentic food. We travelled to Barcelona via bus from the bus station directly which took about 70 minutes and it went into the centre of the city. It was very easy and quite reasonable at €12.50pp each way. Would recommend the trip, especially the walk down to the marina. Overall we were pleasantly surprised with our trip, really happy with what it was. You get what you pay for, given that it cost about £220pp, it was a lovely time away. I'd recommend it if you're happy to be easy going and open-minded. If you prefer control over what you do or where you go, I'd recommend booking your own trip and hotel stay for likely a similar price of the wowcher holiday.”

“They really need to be taken off Wowcher, I see so many complaints about the company not giving the mystery destination or the dates as selected- this is exactly what happened to us as well. I had to kick up a stink to actually be given a destination without paying extra. The whole deal is ridiculous! We did however enjoy the holiday in the end.”
