“I noted there were some not-so-good comments about this hotel, but It is not my experience at all. The location is convenient for visiting Cotswolds, easy to reach, and the room is of good size, clean and quiet. The members of staff are also very helpful. The breakfast is well cooked. Dinner is good but a bit more expensive than I expected. It might just be Cotswords price though. I would give it a 4.5 stars out of 5 if there is such option.”

“I booked and paid for 2 rooms for the same night in error. Wowcher would not refund us but the staff very kindly offered to accommodate us for free on the second night to make up for it.”

“Never got to stay there wowcher had double booked us the hotel contacted me on the Friday before we were going to let us know and now wowcher won't refund the money”

“Received a warm welcome at reception on arriving. Had two twin rooms as a over night stay with friends. We were shown to our rooms by the receptionist which is not a usual thing on hotel check in, so brownie points there. Went for dinner, stopped off at bar for a pre dinner drink. Young man serving very polite and chatty, waited for friends then went in to dinner apart from a table of one and a table of two and our table of four there was no one else there all evening. So here's the bad points, rooms were very clean, beds firm, linen clean but a bit of a musty smell either from the carpet the bed or the linen. The room and bed do not look like the picture above. Walls and skirting could do with a paint as very tired looking scuffs and dents in wood in room and corridors. Bedroom doors could do with a paint and in general the whole hotel could do with a freshen up. I asked for a disabled room but even if we had the other room our friends had there was no facilities within the room we had for wheelchair access ( lucky I didn't have mine) as corridors are too narrow no room for turning into doorways on either side of corridors. No hand rails for toilet or bath/ shower access. No ramps for access to and from buildings with accommodation. However there was access to the restaurant and bar for wheelchairs though. Public toilets were clean but again tired looking and could do with painting. Damp musty smell in toilets, but no access for a wheelchair and no individual disabled toilet either. Cubicles are fine if your a slender person but any bigger then your struggling to get in. So apart from those small things the hotel WAS comfortable, the staff WAS amazing as in helpful, accommodating, and attentive. The food WAS served hot and portions were good, for dinner and for breakfast. The food could do with a bit more variety as our friend was vegan and there wasn't much for her on the menu. We did have a good time and although we didn't get much sleep because we were on the lash all night, we did enjoy ourselves and the gardens are amazing as we loved hugging a tree. So thank you for everything.”

“Staff very friendly, hotel tired needs a re vamp.Had to swop rooms as the toilet seat was broken and it cut my skin .Next room smelt of damp .The new managers had only been there for a month . Food was great though. !”

“Absolutely disgusting we had to hoover and clean our room / not enough staff / we had dinner there mine came and 1 hour later my partners had still not arrived. Nobody cleaned the room and brought fresh towels on our second day even thought we put the sign on the door for it to be cleaned. On our checkout we asked to speak with the manager we were told he had gone out left phone number for him to contact us but as yet he as not !”
