“We have eaten here many times before the restaurant changed its name. We thought we’d try it out now. The restaurant has been completely redesigned and has lost the busy, lively atmosphere it had. They have divided each part of the restaurant with screens and we were seated at a table all on our own. I think it’s because they seat the window tables first. But it just felt like we were the only ones there. However the staff serving us were very friendly and attentive. The food is still excellent. There are different choices of food - including an English menu, Asian menu and burgers if you wish. The deal is for two courses but Wowcher doesn’t make it clear that you can only have a starter and main. The restaurant won’t allow you to have a main and dessert. Of course we know why because they want you to pay for a dessert and if you could choose main and dessert then you wouldn’t purchase an extra course. However the starter (beetroot and cream cheese) and main (Cornish monkfish) were delicious and beautifully presented so we did decide to have a dessert (Peach parfait). The cocktail was also delicious - a raspberry martini. The main benefit with the Wowcher deal is that you get one meal and cocktail free. Would I return? Probably not due to the lack of atmosphere and the fact that two courses only allows for main and starter. It’s a shame that they had to change the restaurant as pre Covid it was always busy and lively as well as the great food. However despite the surroundings this deal is great value for money to experience fine dining.”

“The restaurant was clean , bright and peaceful . The staff were polite and very attentive. I thought the food was very tasty and well put together . I had the asparagus to start with a hazelnut purée and vegan burrata, followed by wild garlic gnocchi . Both were full of flavour and very well cooked. On learning that it was my birthday, our waiter arranged for some complimentary petit fours . Overall a lovely experience made more special by the excellent waiting staff .”
