“We enjoyed our stay for 2 at the Radisson Blu Durham, it’ is in a nice central location. The staff in the spa and hotel were friendly and helpful. The spa facilities were clean and we used both days. We enjoyed our evening meal and breakfast and definitely would return and recommend to friends.”

“Our main gripe came with wowcher adding on an additional £10 charge once we got to the point of purchase with the voucher. This then took the stay over £309 which was a lot higher than we wanted to pay. The hotel staff make this place. The receptionist Lisa was very helpful and upgraded our room due to the wowcher issue but the room did not have a fridge, only an ice bucket, so this was a bit of a shame as we had a 3 day stay there. We were also loudly awoken on the first morning by a carnival band at 8.10am which no member of staff seemed to know about but the band was on the property of the hotel. We will be perusing this as we bought a "peaceful" and "tranquil" break and this certainly wasn't for that! The hotel food is probably the best food we have had on a stay anywhere and we've stayed in many locations and hotels across the UK so well done with that. The prawn spaghetti did however lack chilli as advertised but the waitresses, the two younger girls, we absolutely amazing and went out their way to ensure we were both really happy with the meal. We also took the meal the second night in our room and this was no trouble for anyone. The breakfast was good but again the chilli was missing off the avocado eggs which was on the menu. But again the staff got this for me straight away! The spa is totally average and not one I would expect in a 4 star hotel, it was pretty basic and small, although you can have a drink at poolside and cake (we didn't eat cake but plenty of people were!) This trust in the customer is actually nice to see. The sauna smelt though and the woman had to come turn it back on which was a bit odd as the place was busy. So many friendly members and visitors though so we chatted with so many people. Warm water on offer is a bit odd though, needs a drinks dispenser with cold water not just filled tanks. Overall, the building works going on were fine until second morning breakfast drilling going on at 9am through the dining room, seems a weird thing when service ends at 10am and could have been postponed. The staff make this place but there's no wow factor at all for us and although we would highly recommend the customer service the actual hotel is pretty standard.”

“Polite staff lovely building but a log of slamming of doors had no sleep . Maintenance may need to adjust or renew door closers.”

“After two weeks I'm still trying to book the hotel, it's been a disaster and it looks like I'm not going to have a reservation and I've paid for the pleasure!!!!!”
