Overall very disappointing, table had no tablecloth and we could smell urine. Not sure if it was the cleaning products or what. One pot of tea and was cold. I ordered a vegan afternoon tea. What arrived was two plates one containing sandwiches the other cake and fruit. This made my daughter feel vastly different. Don’t know why the vegan food couldn’t have come out on an afternoon tea display., to look the same as ours I would have addressed it at the time but when I had the discussion with my daughters. They did not want to make a fuss or complain, not wanting to upset them and completely spoil the afternoon I let me issues go. Food was nice but overall not one I would recommend. Karen Taylor

The building was great but the food was poor. Ham and mustard sandwich was full of mustard. The scones were small and dry in the centre. The staff were great.

Had afternoon tea today at Wroxall Abbey. A beautiful house set in acres of land. The Afternoon tea area overlooked a field of lambs with their mothers - all very pretty. The staff were excellent and the service was good. There were4 types of sandwiches, egg, smoked salmon, ham with mustard and cucumber all made with white bread but well filled. The sweet selection included an almond based sponge, a very rich chocolate ball and a lemon type custard topped with a soft meringue. To finish there were two light, fresh scones with plenty of thick cream and Tiptree strawberry jam. The room was elegant but the effect was spoiled by the lack of table clothes and “proper” napkins. Would we go again? Yes, it was a nice afternoon spent in a beautiful setting which was good value for money however it lacked atmosphere that’s created when the room is well populated.
