Recent purchase. Easy to assemble and really well made. Having used Smokey mountains and mastertouch kettles from Weber this pellet smoker is a game changer in terms of ease of use and great food results - especially any long cooks. Pellet consumption may be a factor consider - I’d suggest £ for £ one bag of charcoal briquettes on the WSM lasts way longer than a box / bag of pellets. So with pellets being a little pricey, cost per use may be something to the think about - but i need to use a few more time to prove out fully.

My previous pellet grill (Pit Boss) finally gave in after many years and many repairs but a lot of use so I don’t feel hard done by, the Weber feels like a totally different machine. Pretty much all positive improvements over my previous grill. The tech/app is light years ahead, quicker heat ups, much more stable temps, better designed for cleaning and maintenance and hopefully should it be needed, better support as a much bigger presence in the UK rather than shipping all the replacement parts I needed with the pit boss direct from the states.

Unboxing was easy - just have enough space to be able to set things around you. Lay everything out to be sure you have everything (you will but at least it will familiarise yourself with all the parts), then download the BILT app which makes things very straightforward. Once build I washed all the parts with warm water, and then sprayed some oil on it and wiped it off. Next day I brought it outside and did the burn in. I set the temp to 230 degrees Celsius and watched the internal temp rising (didn't budge until the pellets made their way to the burn pot) then after about 7 minutes the temp rose very quickly. So within 20 minutes it was at 230 degrees and sat there solid for 30 minutes. I then started the shutdown cyctel which completed without an issue. The app is solid too, very easy to use and connect up to the internet/ bluetooth - can't wait now to put it to the real test with some ribs. An impressive piece of kit.
