Having seen my 4 year old Granddaughter picking up apples safely (no more wasp stings) I bought this fruit collector for my husbands's birthday. Grandpa is also thrilled with his new gadget and collected Kilos of pears before doing his mowing! Although not cheap, it is beautifully designed and the handle coming separately means I can hopefully find something else to go on the end of it next year...

Having a small orchard comes with its own problems not least of which is picking up fallen fruit of varying sizes. This device is remarkable, picking up tiny windfall apples and large Bramleys alike - even soft ripe fruits. For years we have relied on rakes and elbow grease but not any more! I actually enjoy collecting the fruit now. Long grass does hinder performance - keep it in check and you won’t have any problems. The supporting plastic “blade wheels” allow easy transit across all types of soil whilst taking the weight of the accumulated fruit. It is genuinely easy to push and pull and holds large volumes before you need to empty it. After use I run it under the outside tap just to remove any grass and remnants of any squidgy fruit. It doesn’t come with a handle so be sure to order that separately. It gives it great balance. The only thing that really annoys me is that I didn’t find out about this before now!
