“Subject to the minor point above, these are good secateurs. Razor sharp, robustly made and with a good action. A word of caution, the website information indicates these are suitable for medium/large hands. I thought my hands were at least medium, but its a stretch for me to use the secateurs from the wide open position. A minor point is the locking catch is extremely stiff - I am hoping I can slacken the screw a tiny bit to ease that.”
“3rd Pair of Felcos .. not that the others have worn out. My original pair is 10 years old and still going strong, ive just purchased different models.”
“These secateurs are really worth the price - they are so reassuring to use, unlike other cheaper brands I have tried in the past, when you can't be sure if they will get through the wood. The design is very comfortable for prolonged use.”
“My father used a pair of Felco for many decades but when we were clearing out his shed they couldn't be found so I expect this pair to be of the same quality, and importantly spares are available. Quality steel and no play in the blades like cheaper ones.”
“I always have a pair of Felco No 8 to hand. I have two pair and two gardens. They are excellent, sturdy, reliable and comfortable to use. I possess a pair of No 6 too which are lighter and more delicate. We service them regularly and sharpen them too.”
“Have used the same pair of this model for years. Love the weight/balance. Are used EVERY day on a variety of plant material. Do keep them clean, oil and sharpen them regularly. Have never been disappointed. Have just ordered two further pairs for Mum and Mum-in-law. Hopefully they will stop complaining about money wasted on cheap secateurs! I know that mine, which are about 20 years new, have many years of good service ahead of them”
